World Series Final Game Draws 51 Million Viewers Across the United States, Canadian and Japan Markets.

The thrilling extended contest that saw the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Toronto Blue Jays by one run drew a total 51 million viewers across the US, Canadian, and Japanese territories. Major League Baseball stated this marks the most-watched World Series finale since the 1991 edition showdown between the Minnesota Twins and Braves.

Last Saturday’s memorable game averaged over 27 million audience members on Fox Sports networks, Fox Deportes and their streaming platforms. Per ratings data, it was the second highest-rated broadcast of the previous week.

It also is the top-rated Fall Classic game since the 2017 Game 7 involving the Los Angeles Dodgers and Astros, which drew over 29 million. This represents a sixteen percent improvement over the last Game 7 featuring the Nationals and Astros, which attracted 23.19M.

In the weekly rankings, Game 6 ranked fourth, Game 4 was 7th, Game 5 was 8th, and the third game landed in thirteenth place.

In the Japanese market, where the deciding game started at 9 p.m. local time, it drew 12 million viewers. This followed last Friday’s Game 6 – in which World Series Most Valuable Player Yamamoto allowed a single run in six frames – averaged 13.1M spectators, making it the highest-rated Fall Classic game on a single network in the country.

Overall Totals and Trends

The entire seven-match World Series recorded 15.71M audience members on Fox, a 2% increase from last year’s Dodgers versus Yankees matchup. This marks the first time after 2015 and ‘16 that the Fall Classic has recorded audience growth for two straight years.
